Mantra brings to Boulder the subtle tastes of Middle Eastern Kebobs together with the robust Indian Tandoori Kebabs, Fresh baked breads ,traditional Vegetarian and non-Vegetarian curries bursting with the flavors of herbs and freshly ground spices. Owners Vim and Kamala Rai have always been an admirers of the vast Indian Civilization, the sounds of the beautiful Sanskrit language and the ethereal tastes of the sacred Foods of India. Their landmark Taj restaurant on Baseline and Broadway has delighted patrons with healthy and delicious traditional Indian Cuisine for years and the patrons have rewarded the restaurant well by making the restaurant a full, cozy and happy place to be in and by giving the 'Best of Boulder' honors every year since its opening in February 1996. Mantra kitchen Chefs are traditionalists, firm believers in respecting and appreciating the age old authentic recipes of a culinary tradition formed through thousands of years of experience. Mantra uses the freshest and best ingredients available. Only Imported Basmati rice is used for the pilafs and whole spices are ground just before use in the Chai and the curries.
