A Boulder Tourism Champion advocates for the destination by helping to bring meetings and conferences to town.

How it Works

Thousands of Boulderites are affiliated with professional associations, religious organizations, hobby groups and other organizations.  How often have you gone to a conference, special event or annual meeting and said to yourself, "Wouldn't it be great to have this meeting in Boulder?"

Well, it's possible.

Many people don't understand that they can rely on their local destination marketing organization (in this case, the Boulder Convention & Visitors Bureau) to reach out to organizational leaders to bring a meeting or event to the city. The Boulder CVB services are free and range from getting hotel bids and arranging site visits to organizing registration and transportation. 

• Being a Boulder Tourism Champion can seem effortless.  Simply identifying the organization or conference to Boulder CVB's sales team can be a big start.  Many times, we already know about the meeting, but sometimes we don't. 
• If you don't want to participate in the process, it's not a problem. However, those willing to promote Boulder to the leadership of a particular organization and help steer a meeting to Boulder are more than welcome to do so.  Our statistics show that having a local influence involved in the selection process for a convention more than doubles the successful rate of return.
