    Overview

Experience the extraordinary talent of GRAMMY-winning violinist Augustin Hadelich, “an intimate performer whose self-effacing quality allows the music to soar” (Los Angeles Times), as he performs Barber’s Violin Concerto under conductor Peter Oundjian. The program also features Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber, George Walker’s Lyric for Strings, and John Adams thrilling and disturbing Doctor Atomic Symphony (adapted from his opera Doctor Atomic) which seeks to portray the ambition and agony of Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer as he unleashed the power of the atom at the Trinity test site in 1945.
