On Sunday, February 24, 2019, Nick Forster presided over the first ever “Hippy Bluegrass Church” service at eTown Hall. After 40 years in the internationally acclaimed Bluegrass band, Hot Rize, and almost 30 years as eTown’s Host, Executive Producer and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Nick continues to bring people together through music! And this time, bringing his brand of “guilt-free gospel” to his home town of Boulder, Colorado with a beautifully attended community sing-along.
This event featured a live bluegrass band and a projection of song lyrics to facilitate community engagement. Kids of all ages were participating and some were even singing at the tippy-top of their lungs. What is clear, is that there is a real need for us to gather in community, and even for those of us who are in the habit of singing, it is time for us all to raise our voices together.
With all that said, we hope you can join us on March 24th as we gather with the eTown community for some more "guilt-free gospel"!
This free / all-ages event will feature a live bluegrass band led by Nick and a projection of song lyrics to facilitate a community sing-a-long environment.
Start the day gathering with friends and other music lovers to sing songs like I’ll Fly Away, A Beautiful Life, I Saw the Light, Angel Band and other staples from the genre. Poet of the month and other offerings will be made along with the music. Free coffee and tea will be served in the cafe, and light breakfast-y snacks will be available for purchase.
