The Mavic Rockies has chosen Boulder, Colorado, as its official start city for 2018. Beginning in Boulder (June 23-24, 2018) means iconic scenery right off the bat for participants of this epic cycling race, including views of the town's Flatirons mountains. The seven timed and ranked stages of the Mavic Rockies will all include beautiful panoramas — from the vast Colorado plains and to some of the state's most dramatic high-alpine summits. In fact, the course ultimately takes riders up a climb over 14,000 feet to the summit of Pikes Peak.
The prestigious Haute Route races have been held in Europe's Alps, Pyrenees and Dolomites to great acclaim, and the race — designed to give amateur riders the opportunity to compete at professional levels — came to the American Rockies by way of Boulder for the first time in 2017.
The event starts in Boulder on June 23rd, 2018 and finishes in Colorado Springs on June 29. Competitors face seven timed and ranked stages, climbing on some of Colorado’s best-known mountain roads, many topping 10,000 feet in altitude.
