Named one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals” in the world by MovieMaker Magazine, the Boulder International Film Festival brings films and filmmakers from around the world to Boulder for a four-day celebration of the art of cinema.
BIFF has developed a reputation as one of the most influential young film festivals in the U.S., with an extraordinary number of new-but-unknown feature films, documentaries and shorts that have gone on from early screenings at BIFF to significant box-office success and multiple Oscar nominations.
Films, films and more films. Long-format, shorts, documentaries, dramas, comedies — just great films! Another highlight of the festival is that it honors a top actor each year, and the honoree usually turns up in Boulder! Past honorees have included Shirley MacLaine, Alec Baldwin, James Franco, Martin Sheen, Oliver Stone, William H. Macy, Peter Fonda, Blythe Danner, Chevy Chase, Maria Bello. They join other independent filmmakers and special guests, including directors Lawrence Kasdan (The Big Chill), Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and writer John August (Big Fish), among many others.
Don't miss CineCHEF, a spectacular culinary experience that showcases the talented and nationally recognized chefs that call Boulder (which has been named America's Foodiest Town) home. The event challenges chefs to create film-inspired dishes for a fun and friendly competition.
The festival is raved about from start to finish, with great film programming, parties, an Opening Night Red Carpet Gala, a private BIFF Filmmakers Reception, the BIFF Noir Party, the Filmmakers Lounge and the Closing Night Event. A festival pass gets into just about all of it, while individual tickets are also available.
The full program in all its glory will be available on the BIFF website, and tickets for the festival and CineCHEF are available there, too!
