Katie Elliott founded 3rd Law Dance/Theater with Jim LaVita in 2001 to produce original, evening-length works and site-specific installations. 3rd Law merges powerful and energetic movement with a thoughtful and personal spirit, where the individual voice of each dancer is honored. The company received the Colorado Dance Alliance Cutting Edge Award and the Living Legends of Dance in Colorado Award. 3rd Law is currently under the direction of Katie Elliott and Paul Fowler.
I’d start with a simple cup of coffee and a croissant at Boxcar Coffee Roasters on East Pearl Street. I tend to go early because it gets busy fast.
Next, I think I’d opt for a walk on the Bobolink Trail, which has lovely views and runs along peaceful Boulder Creek. I keep a lawn chair in the back of my car so that I can set it up next to the creek and read. My other favorite spots for this are next to the Boulder Public Library or at Eben G. Fine Park.
I often like to swing by Clutter Consignment to see their latest furniture and home décor pieces — there’s always something new to tempt me. For lunch, I’d head over to Verde for the asada fundido taco.
One of my favorite things to do for dinner is to meet up with friends at Pizzeria Locale (for truly extraordinary pizza and Italian cuisine) followed by a glass of wine on my back porch overlooking the garden.
