Complimentary Brochure Distribution
Are you a hospitality or tourism business who'd like more visibility for your services? Visit Boulder can help you with distribution of your printed brochures at our visitor kisoks, the downtown visitor information center and our Pearl Street office.
Here are the locations where we display brochures:
- Downtown Visitor Information Center
- Davidson Mesa Overlook Self-Serve Kiosk
- Gateway Park Visitor Information Center
- Downtown Self-Serve Kiosk (14th and Pearl Street)
- Visit Boulder Office (in the Chamber Center)
- VW Bus Mobile Visitor Center (parked at Chautauqua on summer weekends)
- Select Boulder hotels with information displays
How to Get Started
The first step is to provide us with a copy of your brochure. Simply email us, and we'll give you instructions for drop-off. It will go through a quick review process and upon approval, you can drop off a larger quantity (we can provide quantity guidance for your particular brochure) to our office at 2440 Pearl St.
We'll add them to the displays at the locations listed above and can let you know when we need you to drop off more once we get low.
Best Practies for an Effective Brochure
Here are some best practices for brochures that work well in display racks and catch attention:
Paper Size
4 x 9 inches works well in most displays, including Visit Boulder's.
Simple rack cards (with back and front only) in this size are great, as are tri-fold brochures. Smaller brochures, like postcards, can sink down below view and be hard to reach. Larger brochures and posters don’t fit in all of our displays and usually can’t be displayed.
Paper Type
Heavier card stock is best. While brochure displays are under roofs, they are somewhat exposed to weather and thinner paper tends to droop and bend.
What to Include
- Put your business name in the top quarter of the brochure to ensure visibility in all displays.
- Always include basic contact info: business name, phone number, email address, website and physical address, if applicable.
- Visitors love special offers, coupons or discount codes. This also can allow you to track on your end if your brochures are being used.
- QR codes are a good idea if you have more information on your website.
What Not to Include
- Things that are likely to change such as prices. (Or, print smaller quantities so you can reprint if details are likely to change.) If you are including hours of operation, be sure to triple-check to make sure they are correct and will stay current.
- Offers with expiration dates. It's difficult for us to ensure removal by a particular date, but brochures with no expiration dates can stay on display indefinitely.
Events
If printing for specific events, we need them at least a month before the event for timely distribution.
Printing
Local printers that we're familiar with include D&K Printing, Minuteman Press and FedEx Office. Or you can even print directly through Canva.
Design Tips
Even beginners can design their own brochures on Canva.
Type "rack card" in the search bar to see dozens of templates, some of which are free to use.
Here are some things to keep in mind.
The top third is always visible — use bold type and your business name or service at the very top.
Vibrant, professional photos draw the eye and instantly communicate the experience you offer.
Choose 2–3 colors that represent your business' brand for a cohesive, polished look. Too many colors can feel chaotic and reduce readability.
Don’t overload with copy — leave breathing room so the design feels open, inviting and easy to navigate.
Use icons, clear fonts, and consistent hierarchy so details like location, website, and hours are quick to find at a glance.
Our passion is sharing Boulder's amazing hospitality and tourism businesses with visitors. If we can help answer any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
