Factory Tours in Boulder

Boulder is home to many beloved brands known nationwide. If you're curious about what goes on behind the curtain, you'll want to check out these two Boulder-based companies that have opened their factories to public tours in Boulder.

Celestial Seasonings Factory Tour

Celestial's only tea factory in the world is located right here in Boulder. Their popular factory tour, named one of the country's best food factory tours by USA TODAY's Readers' Choice, receives more than 100,000 visitors every year. You’ll get an up-close, full-sensory look at the magic behind Celestial’s tea-making and packaging process, followed by the opportunity to taste a wide selection of teas. Please note that advanced reservations for tours are required.

Sleepytime Bear

Celestial Seasonings is the maker of the popular Sleepytime herbal tea, whose packaging is adorned with a charming (and very drowsy) illustrated bear. Sleepytime Bear has become something of an internet icon over the years. You can see a life-size version of him in his cottage at the factory at 4600 Sleepytime Drive.

Liberty Puzzles Factory Tour

See firsthand how Liberty's heirloom, bespoke wooden jigsaw puzzles are made when you take their free (and dog-friendly!) factory tour. All puzzles are designed, manufactured and boxed right in the facility you will explore. They are known for their beautiful artwork, often featuring the Flatirons or other Boulder scenes, and the unique shapes of their puzzle pieces. No appointment is necessary — walk-ins are welcome, but tours are limited to about a dozen people.

Brewery Tours

If you just love getting insight into how things are made, don't miss Boulder's local brewery tours! Boulder's breweries are like mad scientist labs, with fascinating stories to tell.
