Shuttle Service From Boulder

The glory of Rocky Mountain National Park's mountain trails, abundant wildlife and natural wonders that make it a bucket-list destination are now even more accessible from Boulder.

On weekends and holidays, May 25 through September 29, 2024, you can ride the Bustang from Boulder Junction at Depot Square Station straight into Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). You must purchase a RMNP pass to ride the shuttle into the national park — but bus riders do not need a timed-entry reservation!

For the first two weekends of service (May 25-27 and June 1-2), riders can get 25% off tickets with code ESTES25.

Make a Bus Reservation

You must purchase a ticket from the Colorado Department of Transportation to reserve a seat on Bustang. The price from Boulder is $7.50 each way, with discounts available for children, seniors, individuals with disabilities and students.

Purchase a Park Pass for RMNP

valid RMNP pass is required. Bustang passengers do not need a timed-entry reservation to enter RMNP.

Schedule

  • The shuttle service runs Saturdays and Sundays, May 25-Sept. 29, 2024, and select holidays:
    • Juneteenth (June 19)
    • Independence Day (July 4)
    • Labor Day (Sept. 2)
  • Important: On Monday, May 27, there will be no service at the Boulder Junction at Depot Square Station stop due to the BOLDERBoulder event. Wednesday, June 19 (Juneteenth) service will run only the 200 and 201 routes.
  • Drop location in RMNP is at the RMNP Park & Ride Transit Hub off Bear Lake Road.
  • Pickup at Boulder Junction at Depot Square Station (Gate S3) on Pearl Pkwy. is at 8:05am and 9:05am. 
  • Return to Boulder Junction at Depot Square Station (Gate S4) on Pearl Pkwy. is at 4:55pm and 5:55pm.

How to Prepare

There are no stores or food services available along the route or within Rocky Mountain National Park, so be sure to pack enough food, water, sunscreen and appropriate gear (warm layers, hiking boots, etc.) for your adventure.
