Bustang to Rocky Mountain National Park

The glory of Rocky Mountain National Park's mountain trails, abundant wildlife and natural wonders that make it a bucket-list destination are now even more accessible from Boulder.

Beginning July 3, 2021, you can ride the Bustang bus from Boulder's Table Mesa Park-N-Ride to the Estes Park Visitor Center. From there, transfer to a shuttle that takes you to the Bear Lake Park and Ride in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). You must purchase a RMNP pass to ride the shuttle into the national park. 

Make a Bus Reservation

You must purchase a ticket from the Colorado Department of Transportation to reserve a seat on Bustang. The price from Boulder is $5 each way.

Park Pass Required for Entry to RMNP

If you plan to continue on from the Estes Park Visitor Center to Rocky Mountain National Park via the Bear Lake Road shuttle, a valid RMNP pass is required. Bustang passengers do not need to purchase a Timed Entry Permit to enter RMNP.


  • The shuttle service runs Saturdays and Sundays, July 3-October 3, 2021.
  • Pickup at Table Mesa Park-N-Ride (Gate B) in Boulder is at 7:50am or 8:50am. 
  • Return to Table Mesa Park-N-Ride (Gate A) is at 4pm or 6pm.
