The vibrant Twenty Ninth Street neighborhood offers a mix of open-air shopping, dining, entertainment and wellness attractions, all against a surreal backdrop of the Flatirons. Centered around the outdoor Twenty Ninth Street shopping center, you'll find popular stores like Apple and Lululemon, tons of healthy, casual eateries and a movie theater. The mall frequently hosts community events and live music, so summers are especially lively.

• First, the most obvious, shop! The open-air Twenty Ninth Street Mall lets you shop to your heart's content while still appreciating what Boulder is known for — our mountains and abundance of sunny days. Pop between high-end brand and boutique stores, like Anthropologie, Nike Well Collective, Bonobos, Evereve, Nordstrom Rack, Madewell and many others.

• Enjoy the views. Take a break to enjoy a healthy lunch on a sunny patio while admiring the mountains in the distance.

• Get your wellness on at fitness hot spots like Orangetheory, Stretch Zone and Pure Barre. Shops like Vuori and Nike Wellness Collective also host regular free fitness meetups and classes. Follow up your workout with a stop into one of the other wellness-oriented shops on Twenty Ninth Street. Indulge in a facial at Spavia, a blowout at Drybar or a sauna at CYL Infrared Studio.

• See a movie at Cinemark Century Theater. Relax in luxury seating and watch current box-office hits.

• Enjoy a cup of coffee or a small bite on Alpine Modern's patio, perched between the Twenty Ninth Street Mall and another shopping center with big box stores like Nordstrom Rack and J. Crew Factory.

• Need a breather? Cross Arapahoe Avenue to Scott Carpenter Park, where you can lay on a hillside and watch the clouds, eat lunch in the covered picnic area or let the kiddos get some energy out at the iconic Scott Carpenter playground.
