This free hospitality certification program is for employees working in Boulder's hotels, restaurants, retail shops, and tourism organizations to increase their knowledge of Boulder and help make it a welcoming and inclusive place for all.

New! In-Person Training To help support your team in their certification process, we are now offering free, in-person group certification at your location. During this one-hour session, a Visit Boulder staff member will guide your team through the training program, allowing everyone to earn their official certification at the same time. How the Certification Works

Great for hotel, restaurant, retail and tourism staff, the online curriculum focuses on things to see and do in Boulder and on creating an inclusive environment for all.

The certification is delivered via a virtual platform designed for ease of access 24/7. It includes several components:

Citywide Recognition for Participation

Upon completion, each participant will earn a certificate of recognition, opening up additional opportunities for in-destination learning, networking, and industry perks.

In addition to building a wide-reaching welcoming and belonging culture in Boulder, there are multiple benefits to encouraging your team to complete the certification. For each business, the goal is to have every staff member complete the level 1 certification. Every business that meets this goal will receive:

The official Welcoming and Belonging window cling to display at your location
A badge on your business listing on the Visit Boulder website
Additional spotlights on the Visit Boulder website and program platform
