Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey of Frasca Food and Wine
Bobby Stuckey, founder of the James Beard Award-winning and MICHELIN-starred Frasca Hospitality Group, is a respected Master Sommelier and restaurateur with nearly four decades of experience. A lifelong hospitality professional, Bobby began his career in Arizona, working his way from busboy to award-winning sommelier and restaurateur. In 2024, he received Food & Wine magazine’s Mentorship Award for his contributions to the industry.
Before founding Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder, Bobby worked at some of the country's acclaimed restaurants including The Little Nell in Aspen, where he helped the property earn prestigious wine awards, and Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry in Yountville, where he led the team to a James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Service and was named "Wine Director of the Year" by San Francisco Magazine. It was at The French Laundry that he met Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, his future business partner.
In 2004, Bobby and Lachlan opened Frasca Food and Wine, inspired by the frascas (friendly and informal gathering places) of Italy’s Friuli region. The group has since expanded with several celebrated restaurants, including Pizzeria Alberico (a modern pizzeria inspired by Naples), Sunday Vinyl (a wine restaurant offering a curated vinyl music experience), Tavernetta (a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient in Denver’s Union Station), and Osteria Alberico (opened in Englewood in 2024 and focusing on traditional Italian dishes). In 2007, Bobby and Lachlan launched Scarpetta Wines, specializing in Friulian wines, and in 2020, they published "Friuli Food and Wine," a cookbook celebrating the region’s culinary heritage.
Outside of work, Bobby enjoys spending time with his wife Danette, running marathons and advocating for independent restaurants through the Independent Restaurant Coalition.
Bobby's Perfect Day in Boulder
- It's a Sunday, my day off. I’m up with my wife, Danette, for a slow morning. We grab a coffee at Lucky’s Bakehouse Cafe, then maybe take a walk down Pearl Street.

Pearl Street Mall
- We pop into Paradise Found Records to check out some vinyl.
- After that, I’m hitting Magnolia Road for a long run with my running team.
- In the afternoon, Danette and I head to the Dairy Arts Center for a vintage film and finish the night at sunset with cocktails and dinner at Corrida.
