    Eldorado Canyon State Park (or "Eldo" to locals) is a hiking, fishing, picnicking and rock climbing heaven, just minutes from Boulder. However, parking is limited, and when it’s full, cars are turned away. Instead, take the free shuttle from Boulder to the park.

    Pick up the shuttle from the University of Colorado Regent Lot (Broadway and Regent), or four other stops, and ride in comfort to the state park.

    How the Shuttle Works
    • Free
    • Runs May 29 through Sept. 6, 2021
    • Approximately every 20 minutes
    • Saturdays and Sundays, 8am–7pm (plus May 31, July 3 and Sept. 7)
    • Gear is welcome aboard:
      • Climbing gear, crash pads 
      • Leashed, well-behaved dogs
      • Strollers
      • Capacity for 3 bikes per shuttle
    • Approximately 25-minute ride
    • A valid state parks pass is required for those 16 and older to ride the shuttle. Bring your annual pass, purchase a day pass at cpwshop.com or bring $4 exact cash. More info below.

    Eldorado Canyon State Park Pass

    A parks pass is required for all passengers 16 and older to ride the shuttle into Eldorado Canyon State Park. How to pay:

    • Bring your annual Colorado State Parks pass
    • Purchase a day pass prior to boarding at cpwshop.com
    • Bring $4 cash per adult, exact change
    • National Parks Passes (America the Beautiful) are not valid for entry into Colorado State Parks
    • Kids 15 and under get in free
    Parking Options

    There are five parking lots along the shuttle route where you can catch the free shuttle. All offer free* day parking.

    CU Boulder/Regent Parking Lot

    • Lot 306 on Regent Dr, just east of Broadway. Shuttle stops in the parking lot.

    Broadway and 27th Way

    • RTD Park-N-Ride on the east side of Broadway.
    • Catch the shuttle on the opposite side of Broadway at the southbound RTD bus stop.
    • *If your car is registered outside of the RTD District you will need to pay for parking at this lot.

    Broadway and Dartmouth

    • RTD Park-N-Ride on the east side of Broadway.
    • Catch the shuttle on the opposite side of Broadway at the southbound RTD bus stop.
    • *If your car is registered outside of the RTD District you will need to pay for parking at this lot.

    SH 93 & SH 170

    • Park in the dirt lot on the east side of SH 93. There is no shuttle parking at the gas station.
    • Catch the shuttle on the east side of SH 93 right there near the dirt lot.

    US 36 & McCaslin Park-N-Ride

    • Buses depart every 30 min at the FlexRide bus stop (Gate C at the south end of the pedestrian bridge).
    • *If your car is registered outside of the RTD District you will need to pay for parking.
    • All riders will transfer buses at the gas station at SH 93 and SH 170.
    • To minimize transfer wait time, catch the McCaslin bus at the top of the hour (8:00, etc.).
    • For your return: Buses leave the park every 20 min. Transfer spot is the same. To minimize transfer wait time, catch the bus from the park at half past the hour (1:30, etc.).

    COVID-19 Safety Steps
    • Face coverings are required for all passengers ages 3 and older, regardless of vaccination status. Please bring your own.
    • To promote social distancing, shuttle capacity is limited to 50% of seated capacity.
    • Don’t ride the shuttle if you have recently had symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough or sore throat.
    • Dogs, strollers and gear are still welcome aboard.
    Additional Tips
    • Don't Chance It, Ride the Shuttle Parking is extremely limited inside Eldo, and there is no parking available outside the park. When parking is full, you won’t be allowed in. Don’t chance it. Park at one of the lots and ride the shuttle instead.   
    • Stops at Marshall Mesa There is no fee to ride the shuttle to Marshall Mesa Trailhead.
    • Bikes, Dogs and Gear Welcome Plus each bus has a bike rack that holds up to 3 bikes. 
    • McCaslin Park-N-Ride Tips To minimize transfer wait time, catch the McCaslin bus at the top of the hour (8:00, etc.). On your return from the park, the optimal time to catch the park bus is at the half hour (2:30, etc.)
